NOTES:

The wages of sin is death. Full stop. No questions asked.  That is what we deserve; but for God’s grace.

Romans 3:10-18

There is none righteous, no, not one…

God is the source of knowledge, light, and wisdom.  When you are disconnected, it is as though you are in a blackout; you are in darkness.

Mankind has not come to understand what it means to be good.

We are in a darkness and we need to come to a realization of how much we need Jesus Christ.

Sin has totally destroyed mankind. We are under divine condemnation.  We deserve to be wiped off the face of the Earth.

Romans 1:23-25

Man knew God and decided to turn his back on God; deciding to worship the created things, rather than the Creator. God has given us free will to decide to love Him or not.

Matthew 6:1-

Doing good deeds is not enough; God searches the heart. We must spend time in reflection to root out our wrongs. There has to be a change of pace; no longer business as usual.

Ephesians 2:1-3

There’s so much in the Earth that was are only discovering now that hundreds of years ago people would have called one foolish for understanding.  In the same way, when we go into baptism and arise a new man, we look the same, but we are changed.

Before there was e-mail, there was knee-mail!

Christianity is more and more becoming a ritual and not a dominant driving force in our lives.  Our Christian life has to be our core.

1 Corinthians 2:14

But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Mankind is blind to the ways of the Lord and remains that way until God opens our eyes (gradually).

We see through a dark glass dimly; so don’t bother boast about your enlightenment.

Ephesians 4:17-18

Because God has given us His Spirit, we cannot be like the world.  There is a change that has begun. We must have a hungering and thirsting for the Word of God.  It needs to be as if something is lacking in our lives if we are not eating that Bread daily. If we are not feeling this way, watch out, you are dying spiritually.

If we’re not making use of what God has given us, He will not give us more.  He wants to give us more so we must make use of what He has given so He can bless us.

Ephesians 4:17

Make this Passover a very special time with God. Make it a renewal in this time of repentance, and forgiveness. We should be at our highest point of humility.  Pride is the sin of sins.

We could not find God on our own. It is by God’s initiative that our eyes are opened.

How are you going to live the next few weeks leading up to Passover?

  • take some time out for reflection
  • put more time into prayer
  • read the scriptures more often
  • do some of the things you need to do to reconcile with God
