Our world is desperately sick!

In spite of super-technology and the explosion of scientific knowledge created by more efficient computerization, the space programme, and the advancements in medical science, our world is not getting any better. We are reminded daily of parents killing children and children killing parents, rapists, teenage pregnancies, all manner of sexual perversions, drug traffickers, substance abuse, idolatry, robberies, and the list goes on and on.

We have polluted our waterways. Hazardous chemical wastes and deadly radioactive substances continue to be a problem in spite of government efforts to clean up old dump sites.

The resurgence of deadly diseases such as anti-biotic resistant tuberculosis, new strains such the deadly Ebola and Hanta viruses and the dreaded AIDS pose serious problems for humanity.

Then there is the most devastating form of pollution of all - mind pollution. Millions of our young people are drinking in the filth available to anyone under so-called freedom of expression. Pornographic materials, portraying all kinds of sexual sins, are polluting young minds. The seeds of destruction are being sown.

Indeed, our world is sick! Many Canadians fail to realize this and accept it as part of the changes that a modern society must go through. Doesn't your Holy Bible tells you that the heart of a man is "desperately wicked,' and it devises evil things?

The sad thing is our problems don't seem to be going away. Despite the studies and the programmes put in place to deal with them, the newscasts are not short of these terrible events. Many of our so-called bright scholars and thinkers, in seeking solutions to these problems, don't have a need for God, because they don't even believe he exists. How can they call on whom they don't believe in? asks the bible. Indeed, the fool says in his heart there is no God.

Friends, this is one statement millions would reject today. Yet it's a true statement - very true. In the fullness of time this dying world will come to see it. The only solution to the current problems of today's world is the Kingdom of the Most High God. These problems will be solved only by the return of the Saviour of all mankind, the ONLY name under which humanity can be saved - Jesus Christ. Despite what others may say, there is ONLY ONE WAY to salvation - its through the precious blood of Jesus, the risen Christ. The New Testament teaching on the Second Coming is not shrouded in secret. It's plain and simple. It says when we see these things happening in the latter days we should "look up because our redemption draweth nigh."
